you can see the collision as it happened this morning. the crash happened on foothill boulevard near 36 avenue. the woman collided with a sedan. the woman in the jeep died at the scene. you can see a pedestrian who appears to be struck. police haven't released information on the pedestrian's condition. the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with a injury to the arm. a relative identified her as monique perez. we have a crew going through the video and talking to witnesses and police about what happened. we will have more information for you tonight on the 10:00 p.m. news. routine delivery turned into a dangerous situation. new tonight at 6:00 p.m., ktvu's jade hernandez is live in contra costa county where they are cleaning up a toxic leak. jade? >> reporter: this was an acid leak and it happened here in

the this parking lot. you see the truck in question. crews right now are clearing this accident. the material leaked out of this freight truck. the driver suffered a burn when he tried to unlatch his door. his load shifted causing a hole. 5 gallons of acid leaked. the acid was scheduled to be delivered this afternoon. the other container containing an oil scheduled for delivery here was not punctured. the hospital treated and released the driver. hazmat crews arrived after 12:15 p.m. this afternoon. crews have been working all afternoon on this. neighbors and businesses were never in any danger of toxic fumes. >> you can see when you are closing to the scene, you can see there is leaking. it leaked on to the ground.

we have absorbent on there and stopped it from progressing. >> when i saw hazmat pull in and pass me and enter the premises i knew this was not just a normal thing. >> reporter: we were told the truck belongs to a chemical company in illinois. as i mentioned hazmat crews should be finished here momentarily. reporting live, jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. today was the first day back at school for classmates of a slain 13-year-old girl. grief counselors were at green valley middle school helping students cope with the loss. authorities have yet to release her name or manner of death but they say they are making progress in the investigation. >> we are confident that what happened had nothing to do with the school.

any school property or school related activities. >> a memorial at the crime scene continues to grow. a candlelight vigil will be held at the scene on friday. police are investigating a homicide around 3:00 a.m. near lucas park. investigators say that is where a man flagged down police and showed them a body. the victim william wheeler had been shot multiple times. no arrests have been made. the figure in the murder of a business man appeared in a courtroom today. family members and supporters gathered at the court. this is a picture of her inside the courtroom this afternoon where she was scheduled to enter a plea on a accessory to commit murder charge on november 30. the family was frustrated because the prosecutor had

another case and the hearing was moved to wednesday. >> i seen my daughter. she was broken. she can't believe this is happening. she doesn't understand why. my thing is prove it, or set my daughter free. >> three men with gang connections face murder and robbery charges in connection with the death. parents iand teachers -- and teachers took to facebook in the wake of a child abuse settlement. it includes a petition aimed at removing the superintendent. say they she should have fired a teacher for sex -- for child abuse. 275 people have "liked" the page. the felony conviction of --

a san jose family is grieving the loss of a 17-year- old boy today, shot to death last night. the family said the teen was hanging out with friends in east san jose when someone approached them and opened fire. he and another teen were shot.

he was killed but the other victim is expected to survive. a friend says the boy was not a gang member but hang out with some at times. police haven't made any arrests. many oakland residents are questions the safety and size of one of the most popular events, the first friday event grown drawing thousands of people to the festival. new tonight at 6:00 p.m. ktvu's rob roth tells us how a shooting is prompting calls for change. >> reporter: a memorial sits on telegraph avenue for a 18-year- old, shot to death friday night during the monthly first friday. police arrested a man they believe killed him and shot three other people but aren't releasing his name. >> witnesses came forward. >> reporter: first friday has been a source of pride attracting thousands to a city
